Final round: Location TBD

-         Tuesday, June 30, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Each of the four companies in the final round will have five minutes to present and two to three minutes to answer questions from the judges.

The audience will be allowed to vote for their favorites in each round, including the final, and the audience votes will be a factor, along with the judges’ votes, in determining which companies will be invited to the final round and which will be declared the final winner.

Who can apply for the pitch fest?
All ideas and start-up businesses are welcome to submit an application for participation in the pitch fest, whether your idea is at the concept stage, it’s in pilot or your company is already in the early stages of start-up. We welcome all innovations, from anywhere in the United States or around the world, and every submission has the same chance.

How will the pitch fest participants be selected?
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel including representatives from ISTE, Edmix and other organizations selected by ISTE that are involved in education and the ed tech marketplace. The panel will select the 12 companies that will be invited to participate in the pitch fest preliminary rounds.

Important dates
Application submission deadline: Friday, May 15 (Now extended)
You have until Friday, May 15, to create and upload a one-page document (see the example below) that details your business idea. Try to get your submission in as early as possible — don’t join the last-minute rush of entries. Submissions after the deadline will not be considered.

NB: due to demand, the submission deadline has been extended to May 15.

Notification of selection: No later than Friday, May 29
If your idea is selected, congratulations! You will go on to the preliminary round. Edmix will contact you to let you know which preliminary session you will be presenting at (out of the two preliminary sessions).

Please note: All travel and related expenses for participation in the pitch fest are the responsibility of the participating companies. Companies selected for the pitch fest will receive up to two complimentary exhibits-only passes for Monday and Tuesday.

Important information

Who has access to your submission?
Your business name and ideas will not be made public or shared outside of ISTE, Edmix and the members of the review panel. As a community of ed tech founders and start-ups, Edmix understands the legitimate concern most founders have about sharing their early-stage ideas/business.
If you choose to submit an idea and enter the pitch fest, you’ll retain full ownership of your intellectual property.
